hyperimmunoglobulin E syndrome

A heterogeneous group of immune disorders, characterized by recurrent "cold" staphylococcal infections, unusual eczema-like skin rashes, severe lung infections that result in pneumatoceles, and very high concentrations of the serum antibody IgE.
